The Los Angeles Sparks' front office showed that they were committed to their fans to do everything they could to bring a championship to Los Angeles by drafting with their first pick one of the hardest working players in women's college basketball Nnewkadi Ogwumike from Stanford. Watching her over the last four years she is by far one of the best players in college basketball. She is a work horse that never stops with 2000 plus points, 1000 rebounds, and this year 2012 Pac-12 Player of The Year.

What she bring to the Sparks is player that believes every rebounds belongs to her as well as a threat in the post area where she can face the basket, take you off the dribble, a nice mid range jumper to go with her game as well as a great defender. One of the areas the Sparks must address is their rebounding and now that should change  with Ebony Hoffman, Jantel Lavender, Candace Parker and Nnewkadi Ogwumike on the team now. The Sparks Draft Party allows fans of all ages to mingle with personnel from their front office, as well as having a chance to see players selected in the WNBA Draft.

Sparks' new head coach Carol Ross will bring a swagger to this year team with a defensive mind set and will have a great impact on her players because she is a coach that believes in hard work and bring you best game to the court every time you suit up. A lot of questions will be answer this season with getting the best player in the draft, but now comes the fun part as tryouts on April 21-22 and training camp begins for the Sparks on April 29 where the fun will begin as players begin to battle for a roster spot on the team. Lisa Leslie now a consultant for the Sparks was very please with the direction that the Sparks are heading.

This biggest questions that everyone is wondering is if Candace Parker will be able to stay healthy for the whole 2012 season in the WNBA and what other players on their roster will have a really great season.
