A event that was so amazing, so wonderful i had to take time to reflect before i could write about it.The 11th Annual Harold Pump Foundation Gala Held at Hyatt Regency, Century Plaza Hotel honoring two of the greatest guys you would ever want to meet Jerry West and Marcus Allen. Jerry West the symbol of what greatest is and teamwork still today still find time to give back and is plays a very important part to one of the largest high school sporting events in the country the LA Watts Summer Games who touches the life of so many youths and families during the summer.

The list of running backs who played in the NFL starts of with one of the honorees Marcus Allen who help lead the Los Angeles Raiders to two Super Bowl Championships.But the stage was set when two of the best backs ever to played the game Gale Sayers and Jim Brown was in attendance and shared some light on the way football is played today.You had players dedicated to one team because that team gave them the dream of a life time to play in the NFL.

Now let's talk about the greatest wide receiver to ever play the game Jerry Rice stroll down the red carpet and took out time hang out with us and has a great sense of humor after i told him he was awesome as San Francisco 49er',but when he became a Raider it brought tears to my eyes. The fact Jerry Rice and another former Raider Tim Brown helped the Raiders get to the Super Bowl but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now for MLB and i will admit that back in the day i was a Dodger fan when we had Steve Garvey,Dusty Baker, Ron Cey,Davey Lopes and Bill Russell when the Cincinnati Reds game in to town i was always nervous because of one man Pete Rose.I cannot count the times Pete Rose just when i thought the Dodgers would have victory, there goes Pete Rose with a home run or single that would still the victory right from us.

Now Rollie Fingers one of the greatest pitchers in MLB struck fear in the hearts of batters being on the mound staring at you with those eyes and before you knew it his fast ball caught you looking as it went by you standing at the plate. Now another force in baseball was the greatest shortstop of all time Ozzie Smith. Ozzie Smith set the standard for shortstops with his great range and his passion for the game of baseball. The 11th Annual Harold Pump Foundation Gala to me is a event the really shows that people really care about the fight against cancer. You can check out the video highlights from the event.
